983 Royalty-Free Audio Tracks for "Shepard Tone"

The portamento i have used to create a shepard tone for my submission to disquiet junto project 0508.

*1 step in 72 equal temperament on C. Equal-tempered: 21/72:1 = 16.67 cents. MIDI pitch bend: 43,69 Created in Sibelius with midi pitch bend on 69 for 15.625 cents rather than 16.667. New version a PU on 43,69 for 16.6748046875 cents.

*19-limit seventh tone on C = C (Ben Johnston's notation). Just: 57/56 = 30.64 cents. Limit: 19-limit. MIDI pitch bend: 103,73

*Third-tone/1 step in 18 equal temperament on C. Equal-tempered: 21/18:1 = 66.67 cents. MIDI pitch bend: 43,53

Five is four: a polyrhythmic analog-synth loop with ambiguous five or four time signature. Slightly frantic sounding, arpeggiator-like rising pattern a bit like a shepard tone, it's a 5/4 pattern, but accents are distributed in 4/4. 180 bpm, key is a-minor (a-minor then f-major). Two loops marked in wav file, first is the bare synth pattern, loop is samples 0 to 640,000; second is with a pad, loop is samples 960,000 to 1,600,000.

This is the sound that myself and others agree is what you hear when a loud noise makes your ears ring. Why this particular frequency? i don't know. It's just a simple generated tone--you can loop it to make it longer.
